Sainte Maure de Touraine, (AOP - Protected Origin status) is made only with raw goat’s milk. Upon un-moulding, a piece of straw is inserted through the centre of the cheese, to distinguish the brand and guarantee its origin. Amongst those who savoured the pleasures of the Touraine’s fabled cheese are the Kings of France and the illustrious Rabelais. And to the Tours-born Balzac, “The best known goat’s cheese remains the Sainte Maure de Touraine.”
Lait Délices de Touraine Milk sold under the brand name Lait Délices de Touraine unites 13 dairy farmers of the southern Loches region. Farms were selected for the quality of their milk, their feeding and animal welfare practices, environmental awareness and overall transparency.
